📚 about competition in humans, why we compete, how to compete and what makes us tick 😉 ⠀ Yeah, the title is misleading because it looks like a #gambling strategy book... but it’s not, it’s much much more. ⠀ For example: look at you right hand🤚is your ring finger longer than your index finger? If yes, your more prone to take risks 🤓 ⠀ Did you ever notice why men hang in groups... and woman prefer to be in pairs? 👯‍♂️ ⠀ Why is ice figure skating ⛸ so hard? Especially after making just☝️mistake? ⠀ All this explained and a real treasure trove of information about us humans... ⠀ #competition #theory the science of winning and loosing #book 📚 ⠀ What is interesting on many levels is oneself, differences between men vs woman and a whole host of interesting research. ⠀ You either own the mistake or the mistake owns you! (Read more👇because it’s fascinating). ⠀ One fact which is important to tell about is how people treat mistakes, in a nutshell (especially unexpected mistakes) the brain 🧠 responds in a specific manner and tries to handle it. ⠀ Now if you don’t tell the person (and they really don’t) they never will learn... common sense. ⠀ However if you are too strong 💪 in telling them about their mistake - they go into protective mode and there can be problems. This goes for yourself too 😉 ⠀ Nice upgrade 👍
#collage wall #london 🇬🇧 which is your favorite? Humor is everything 😁
Some of the things I missed from my island 🌴🇬🇧 fantastically great humor 😂
Profile Jumper! Is alive 💪 ⠀ I’ve been bookmarking too many things and my bookmarks to my social profiles keep disappearing! 😫 ⠀ so decided to create a little cool 😎 chrome browser extension to solve this problem. ⠀ If you want to know more, take a look at the latest blog (at this time of writing) link in my bio. ⠀ Made with love and completely open source. 💯% free! ⠀ If you like it, thank me with a comment and tell someone else about it. ⠀ Enjoy 😃
You’ve heard about a “black swan”... now meet the “black sheep” British phone booth... 👀👇 ⠀ 🇬🇧📞Phone booths are usually red 🚨⁉️ How did this one get to be this colour? (Best comment gets a shoutout) +1 for humor 😉😂 ⠀ What’s a “black swan”? It’s a term used in probability theory - to describe a rare event, something unusual... the origins go back when everyone in the known world, thought that swans 🦢 were only white... and that was the case until we reached Australia 🇦🇺 there it was discovered that they had black swans! So the term took hold. ⠀ In English we have a saying “a black sheep” = an odd thing or person that is different (or stands out). ⠀ To all “black sheep” / crazies / people who think different... If you stand out, have interesting moments or desires that take hold unexpectedly... this post is for you! ⠀ Embrace the moment... for every moment is an opportunity. Enjoy, and may we all have our moments... to shine! ☀️ ⠀ Even phone booths need an odd☝️out 😉 (usually they are always red) #comment4shoutout
Doing what I thought was impossible... 1163 km, amazing experiences, people and places I will always remember. One learns so many things about oneself, body and mind - to break through limitations, each and every day. The photo of me is take just outside a village in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 by a woman who was simply running past, she could see I had traveled and for some inexplicable reason felt compelled to capture the moment. I’m grateful to her, for stopping her run and thinking about it. My recovery lasted for more than 1 week, my legs and knees were in a lot of pain.. but that’s what one would expect without training and preparation. But my mind... has grown, strengthened and I’m amazed at one can do with ones thoughts and thinking... I’m glad to have made it. The kindness and generosity of people I’ve never known or met is unexpected in places you would not expect, it goes to show that people are (which I believe) innately so. Thankful for the support I had from so many. There were historical events in little villages... which were profound and I did not know about, for example huge planes that landed in fields, food and culture. I’ve had some funny interesting interactions too along the way. Would I do it again? From a limitation of mind, to test my mind - yes, most definitely! However, from a body, bike, tools, preparation... no because we can things faster and better with better equipment. My bycicle - “Jopas” survived with one to many improvised fixes... it’s old, but unique and I still ride it like the wind daily. What every you set your mind to do... you can, you just need to go out and do it. #berlintobritain
There’s just something about these houses... ⠀ photos 📸 of various houses during my #berlintobritain trip (houses from multiple countries)
#brexit #weneedtoleavenow it’s still a hot topic, everyone I speak to is either on one side or another... but all agree that they don’t like purgatory and want something done.
English roads for cycling are much to be desired... need to reach London #berlintobritain
